How coverage works in Texas

Texas uses the federal marketplace at HealthCare.gov for public plans. Public coverage is based on your income and is designed for major pre-existing conditions and people who qualify for government assistance. Private plans are based on your health, are underwritten, and often open up nationwide PPO networks. The first question is always which side fits you.
